The
Leftrights are a three-piece making a massive impact
on the vibrant Manchester music scene, but this just isn't enough
for them… this is only the beginning...
With the fruits of this summer's studio shenanigans (their new
double A-side: Machination / In The Light Of Day) finally crafted
and (almost!) available, The Leftrights are throwing
themselves into realising their ambitions to bring their music
to all who will listen.
Having chalked up headline slots at key Manchester venues such
as Night & Day, Moho Live, and Manchester Academy and having
headlined Wedstock 2010, The Leftrights are steadily
growing their supporting CV. Bands The Leftrights
have supported include: The Futureheads, Kid British, Detroit
Social Club and Manchester legend Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets
fame.
Comprising of Paul Ager (vocals, guitar), John Soonaye (bass,
vocals, harmonica), and Neil Chandler (drums); The Leftrights
have evolved their eclectic sound into what has been described
as "a powerfully dynamic set" (CityLife
Online).
The Leftrights’ unique sound is drawn from
a variety of influences ranging from the rhythmic yet raw approach
of guitarist Paul, combined with the frenetic yet melodic bass
playing of John, fused with the primal classic rock approach of
drummer Neil. Above this musical base, Paul and John’s distinctive,
yet distinct, vocal styles blend melancholy drawl with mellifluous
harmonies to create a richly layered sound.
The Leftrights are a band producing an unusual
- yet accessible - sound unlike any other on the scene at the
moment, creating a buzz with audiences wherever they play... but
they want more! They want you to listen. They want you to love
it. They want you to come along for the ride...
